NHS JOBS


Above is a screen grab on of NHS jobs website, I decided that i register on the site as it will keep me up to date with any Medical Photographer jobs that become available. Although i know i wont be looking for a job until the end of my course i still thought it was a good idea to start looking now.
I have set up to receive emails of any new jobs that become available that include the word "photographer" in the title or the job post.


Since working with Alan Greenman and producing the images for the Excellence Awards 2012, i have decided that i definitely want to pursue becoming a medical photographer. I have now finished taking the portraits for the awards, however coming up i am photographing at the actual awards themselves photographing groups of people as they arrive at the venue, the awards themselves are being held at Pirelli Stadium. 


Now that the portraits have been taken alan has said to be that he will be needing images taken for the Annual Report, i have told him that i am more than happy to get involved in this. Also today Alan has said that i am more than welcome to go up to the hospital and shadow some of the other medical photographers that are currently working at Burton Queens Hospital. 


He said that if any jobs become available then i will be the first to know, he did say that he will write me a reference detailing the work experience that i have been doing there. I am aware that Alan is retiring this year, and also he told me the other day that they have been told they need to photograph 120 more patients a year and this will maybe free up a job position. All in all i am feeling very positive about the situation  at the moment. Alan writing a reference for me will ultimately stand me in a very good position when it comes to applying for medical photographer jobs at other hospitals in the UK.

These are the prices for all the five book formats that blurb allow people to make. These prices will include postage and packaging on top of the final price.

I then need to think about putting my percentage on top of the standard price of the book, after discussing with other people about how they go about charging and costing, I will be putting 50 of the price on top of everything I order.

For example if I order a book from blurb I will add 50 % of that price to come up with my final price that I will charge for the book. I need to thing about these kinds of things otherwise I will never make a profit.

Digital Photo Printing

If you order through our free desktop software (available for download from the website) you can choose between Classic Size and Variable Length for your prints. Traditional analogue film has an aspect ratio of 2:3 which produces 6 x 4" images. Your digital camera saves your images with an aspect ratio of 3:4 which is similar to a television picture.

This means the image is saved at a size that may not fit exactly into standard print formats e.g. 6x4 and 7x5". If you choose Variable Length your digital images will be printed in the aspect ratio you photographed them at. This ensures that you receive your full images without them being cropped or given a white border to fit an exact print format.

This means that if you order 4" variable prints your photographs may vary slightly in size as we print and cut each image to fit the aspect ratio of your image perfectly. If you wish to have and exact print size then please use the desktop software and select "Classic Size" from the top menu bar within the print ordering screen. Pricing my Photography


Research into pricing my photography

I am looking at other photography websites and seeing what prices and packages they offer so I can come up with something that I feel is right for me.

This is the heart of our wedding photography, and is the standard level of service to which all other options are added.

~ Two photographers on the day until the start of the Wedding Breakfast.

~ For Church weddings, we will attend the rehearsal with you.

~ For Civil weddings and Civil Partnerships we will visit the wedding venue beforehand with you.

~ We will visit you before the wedding to photograph the dress and accessories, and any pets.

~ All standard-size albums supplied with a custom-fit leatherette briefcase.

Larger albums, and square or landscape album formats, are available up to 16"x20" (40x50cm) by quotation.

As an optional extra, storybook albums can easily be shared with friends and relatives. Smaller copies of the main album are available at any time in a range of sizes.

Images start at £15.50 for an 8" x 6". We also have a variety of wall portraits and canvases plus a selection of multi mounts and contemporary stretch pictures to choose from.
Weddings:

To book your wedding we require a £160 booking fee. ** not a deposit.

Packages range from between 20 and 40 images in a Contemporary White album with inset picture on the cover - priced between £595 and £700.

A4 "Aussie" album a smaller version of above with between 40 and 70 images priced between £700 and £1060.
